Restaurant Wishlist: The Fat Duck

Rated as "the best restaurant in the world" (2005) and hoarder of 3 Michelin Stars... I've been wanting to go to the Fat Duck for a few years now... and reading Gourmet Chick's post about her meal there just concreted the fact that I absolutely want to go and eat there.

I know I've waxed lyrical about Heston Blumenthal before but I do think he's a genius! Even their restaurant website is playful!!

Here is a small excerpt from one of the episodes of Heston's Feasts that was shown on Channel 4. The man makes an edible chocolate river! This is from the Willy Wonka Episode - there was also edible wallpaper... and you can't tell me, you wouldn't be tempted by edible wallpaper!!!

Would it be insane to go to Baltimore...

Just so I can order a cake from Charm City Cakes???!!!!???? Of Ace of Cakes Fame!

And would it be just a little too crazy to spend US$250 on said cake??!!!

They have just released a new line called Cakes for Two (C42)... for those of us who don't necessarily have an event to plan and the US$1000 minimum to spend on a custom cake...  tho at $250 a pop... it's not exactly easy on the pocket! Even for a cake that feeds 15... that's more than a tenner a head.. for CAKE... GAH!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Ace of Cakes... They just look like they have so much fun!! I would love a chance to go visit the shop (to pick up my $250 cake... eep!)...

This is the cake I think I would get if only I could bring myself to spend that much money on a cake...

I love all things Heston - so reading this blog post by the fabulous Gourmet Chick just really really made me want to go to London and splurge loads of money to eat at Dinner...
