Things I Covet : Zara Plaited Shopper

I don't know about you... but I'm kinda in love with internet shopping... just a little bit... or maybe a bit more than a little bit...

Anyways... when boohoo.com sent me a 20% off code because I hadn't shopped with them in a while.. I thought I'd just take a peek and see if there was anything to tempt me... So 3 maxi dresses in the shopping cart later.. I thought I'd take a quick look at their bags... as a girl can never have too many handbags! Where I came across this...

Which reminded me of this bag from Zara... 

which I LOVE!

But my current budget doesn't quite stretch to £80 for a bag... Even tho it's Buffalo leather and would last me forever...  I've had my eye on this bag since the start of the year when I saw it in Taiwan.. (should've got mum to buy it for me!) 

Anywhoos, with my 20% off, the knock off bag is only costing me £20.. so maybe I can placate myself with it in the hopes that the gorgeous Zara bag might one day go on sale and end up in a price range I can a) afford and b) justify!

If the knock off bag is really horrible, I at least have 3 maxi dresses for my troubles... and I love me some maxi dresses!! With our impending trip to Morocco & my birthday trip in Jan to Lanzarote, I'm sure I'll get lots of wear out of them... and even if they aren't so great.. I can count on free returns! :)

I can't believe ANOTHER week has gone by... I feel like I've been super busy yet I also feel like I've accomplished not much at all!!

Right, here goes!

Happy Black Friday!

Today is apparently the craziest shopping day if you live in the States.. so good luck for those of you out to bag a bargain!! So far I've bagged 35% off + free shipping @Pree Brulee and gotten matching bracelets for my mummy, one of my "surrogate mums" & me!!  I bought us all this bracelet, orange for me and pink for the two mum's. 

1.   Waking up at the break of dawn to go shopping is my idea of     craziness!! I love to shop and I love a good bargain.. but "the break of dawn" and me really do NOT get along...  .

2.   If I were to go shopping today I would be on the hunt for   a tablet or netbook.. so I can stop lugging my 15" beast around when I go travelling... tho, I might see if I can survive the next trip with my brand spanking new smartphone and no laptop... eek!!   .

3.  The best thing I ate yesterday was    turnip cakes! We don't "do" Thanksgiving... so we didn't eat anything special...    .

4. Something I've been learning lately is    that I seriously lack motivation, especially when there is no structure to my life.. I think I've always known this.. but it has been overtly apparent lately... *sigh*   .

5.  I cannot start my day without    checking emails & facebook.. (so much easier now that I don't even have to get out of bed to do it!)  .

6.  My nighttime attire consists of    a singlet and pj bottoms...  .

7.  I am looking forward to    Kim arriving for the weekend, the last F1 race on Sunday & hitting up the Christmas markets!! Mulled wine & yummy treats?? Yes please!!  .

Maxi Mania

I fear I may have developed a slight addiction to maxi dresses...

I already have the French Connection Meadow Maxi Dress in black as well as ruby...

As well as a cheapie from Internationale.. which I picked up for £5 in clearance... also a feather patterened one from George (from ASDA)

Had an email from play.com today saying they are offering 20% off all their dresses... and the ones I looked at are:

Hmm... now if only the weather would get warmer and stay sunny... I might have a decent excuse to buy some more maxis!! I can totally see myself living in them come summer... 

Last summer I pretty much lived in my printed "gypsy" skirt.. which I either wore as a skirt with a t shirt or tank.. or pulled up as a dress... google "Folio SK165 hippy skirt" and you'll be along the right lines... (I can't open the page at work as it has been blocked due to "provocative attire")...

I think I'm a bit in love with this coat... it's so bright and happy!! 

But at a whopping £95.. eep!! (rather out of my budget!)

I actually am in desperate need for a Spring jacket..

I have a few winter coats and hoodies or fleece and a couple of waterproof ski outers

But nothing for Spring/Fall (Autumn)

I'm not sure when I started referring to Autumn as Fall.. or even if I do indeed say Fall instead of Autumn when I talk... it's definitely something that happened when I lived in Canada..

Anywho, I've been trying to find a trenchy/mac coat for Spring.. but this one is fab!

Although I did spot some Burberry Macs in the vintage store for £45-£55 which is pretty damn good value if you ask me!!

30 Days of me - Day 30

Day 30 - Your favourite song

This seems like such a strange one to finish on... almost seems too easy.. tho as I type that.. I'm thinking... it's really hard to pick just ONE favourite song...

They are definitely songs I could listen to over and over and over again... and over the years.. I have.. 

So there you have it!! My complete 30 Days of Me challenge!! It wasn't all smooth sailing and I've had some hiccups on the way.. but I made it.. albeit a few days tardy.. but I'm proud that I stuck with it to the end!

It's a gorgeously sunny day outside today and I feel like I should be outside making the most of it.. but I just cannot find the energy or the enthusiasm... we did a lot of stuff yesterday, flea markets, thrifting, going to Ikea, Sainsbury's, stopping by my work and didn't get home till late, then I made dinner... spaghetti & meatballs a la Ikea!! Made my first ever homemade pasta sauce.. SO EASY!! Never buying pasta sauce again!! (HA!) 

Then we were up early again this morning to watch the F1 race and we were going to go shopping at Primarni, but I'm broke.. so.. :(  tho a guy just called me about going to see a bike he's selling on gumtree, so once the mister gets home I might see if we wants to head out and see it.. and if he wants to loan me some money so I can buy it... :)  But I haven't actually been shopping for bikes so I don't really know how much bikes are etc... and I hate buying things without shopping around first...  bah! I really just cannot be bothered today!! BAH!!

I kinda just want to stay home, maybe do the last fix on my shirt skirt project, catch up on my blogging and hang out in my kitchen... I have ingredients for noodle soup and to make more tangy ribs.. ( I gotta have something to eat with all that cornbread I made yesterday!!)... *sigh*

Do you have days like this?? Where you feel like you just cannot be bothered!!??!!

Fillin in the Blanks on a Friday...

As always {via} the little things we do..

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is,       in Lauren's words "an investor"..  I will call and text and try to make time to see you... even tho sometimes I feel like maybe you don't want to be friends with me because you never text me... but I'll still text you anyways...   .

2.  I am    going through a major shoe fetish phase at the moment.. I can't buy enough shoes... don't get me wrong.. I've always had a shoe obssession.. but I go through phases where I just don't see any I like.. but I love every second pair of shoes I see right now... NOT good..  .

3.  I am not     good at getting up in the morning... probably something to do with not being good at going to bed at night...  .

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be     loud (my friends often tell me they hear me before they see me... I don't doubt it)... loyal.. pottymouth (I am getting better at not swearing.. but if I get annoyed or angry.. I "swear like a sailor" as they say)  .

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is     everything and nothing... clothes that I know I will trash.. I will scrimp where I can, but if I see something I really like, I will splurge if I can afford to (and sometimes when I can't.. eeep Visa!) probably wardrobe "staples" like plain tees and tanks I will cheap on coz I know I will wear em to death and trash em.. or anything really "trendy" that I know I won't wear past that season.. oh sunglasses! because I ALWAYS lose my expensive sunnies.. ie. 3-4 pairs of Oakleys & a pair of old skool Moschinos that were my mums.. :( but my £1 aviators from Primark?? had them for years, but never lost em! yea.. you figure it out..   .

6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is      things that will carry me through the years ie.  good wool coats... or recently.. anything that seems to take my fancy... GAH!!   .

7.  I would trade       all my dirty laundry (and maybe some of my clean clothes too..)       for       an unlimited travel budget   in a heartbeat.

Remember this post?? The bag and shoes that I ordered (scroll down!)?? Well, after initially NOT being able to change the delivery to my work address.. because their website crashed about 4 times when I was putting my order through and somehow it went through with my home address as delivery... and them pretty much telling me there was nothing they could do because the order had been processed already.. (fine, fair enough, I've worked a call center before, it's a downer of the system... but at least offer me some form of compensation!) anyways... it showed as dispatched on the 26 March.. yesterday I got an email asking me to rate my items.. uhhh... I HAVEN'T received my items! 

So I emailed them again to alert them to the fact I haven't got my items... and I got an email back saying, "I can confirm your item has been lost in transit. Sorry for any inconvenience".  Uhhhh... so WHAT are you doing about it?? Do I get a refund?? Are you reshipping?? WTH??? So I email back to this effect.. and they were like, oh, we actioned a refund for you, it may take 7 days to show up in your account... no rhyme, no reason... I kinda wanted them to re ship coz I really liked that bag!!!

Long story short... Debenhams Online Store = CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP.... and I will never shop there again.. it's also making me not want to shop at their actual stores either... Bad customer service is just unacceptable to me...

Oh.. and if you were thinking that I'd also ordered these things... I only kept the dogtooth dress... the other two dresses fit terribly and the purple shoes cut me right at the back of the ankle whenever I walked... it also didn't have a zip up, and you just had to squish your feet into all that elastic... erm... not so much with the good!!

So I got them firetrap shoes to treat myself after the epic fails of my other online shopping efforts of late! And to be honest... I think they are my faves so far.. so I'm kinda glad the other ones didn't turn up and the other ones needed to be returned... I really hope they are awesome when they arrive.. otherwise I'm going to be disappointment PLUS!

Short post today.. busy day at work as Ms K is on holiday this week... 

The mister took a half day, so came and took me to lunch... yeay!! Then he came and got me from work and we went late night shopping.. then went out for dins coz it was late and I didn't want to cook...

Oh and my LOMO cameras arrived!!!! *over excitement! ladywood!* (did I just post that... oh yes I did... oh dear.. right.. moving right along!)

AND the mister went and got me my belated V day presents!!  But now it's late and it's beddiebyes times for this monkey lady.. so, I promise to photo all my spoils over the weekend and share them with you... (if anyone cares??!!)

These are the things I got today...!!

You may have noticed my overabundance of posts the last couple of days... 

it's coz I've been home, sick... woke up with a migraine and a temperature on Monday...

Still didn't feel all that great on Tuesday.... but got overly bored and decided I was ok to go back to work today..

Just made sure I had a healthy supply of neurofen to get me thru the day...

coz it's surprisingly hard to take a photo of a watch on your own wrist in poor lighting....

I got the watch through a coupon for £20 + £4.99 for shipping... and they donated money towards Red Nose Day... so I got a new watch and helped a good cause! :)

Sooo... Debenhams are having a sale right now.... so I thought I would stop in after work to have a looksee...

Last time they had a sale, I got shoes for £4.. so it was worth a looksee...

And I picked up these wedges for £29.. Down from £65!

 But they only had one size left which are a bit big for me..

but I figure I'll just punch more holes in the strap..

and this way.. they fit my wide feet at the front!

I had seen  online, but wanted to go in and try them on... and they are SO cute!! So I came home and ordered them online.. hehe... because I had a code for an extra 10% off the sale prices.. yeay!! Tho while I was online ordering them.. I also saw...  and I decided that I just HAD to have it as well.... and they're both on sale! AND I get an extra 10% off!!
