Halloween Round Up

Howdie Party Peeps!

Halloween started fairly early for me this year as I was put in charge of decorating my work... It was the perfect excuse to go to Poundland and buy all the fun decorations I usually can't justify buying for myself! Though I somehow didn't get any photos of the front window I decorated or the fun things I got to put up all through the shop... #bloggerfail

Another bonus about working at a super fun shop for a super fun lady - getting paid to play with stamps!! I got to make Halloween themed tent cards to accompany some of our marshmallows to go to a wedding!

I just found this website through a freebies email I get and thought I would share because they seem to have some pretty cool things to make! They have all sorts of scenes, animals, motorcycles etc. Looks like all you need is a printer, some paper and a little bit of craftiness!! Each card comes with the pattern and instructions and looks fairly easy to follow and straightforward.. I'm definitely going to try making that monkey one!!

Ceramics

Well, I have been rather slack with my blog posting recently, due to many long weekends with which I lazed around the house and accomplished as little as humanly possible while still maintaining some meagre form of existence... 

So here is a post about a weekend a while back when the mister and I went to paint ceramics~

I bought vouchers from one of the many sites I'm signed up to.. I think itison or LivingSocial provided this fun afternoon out... and we had meant to go for many weekends but for some reason or other managed to not get round to it... (mostly due to the fact that we usually sleep in till past midday on weekends, then by the time I've made us brunch and we've pottered about the house, it's about 3pm by the time we're "ready" to go anywhere... hmmmm..)

I know I had a super fun day.. and I think the mister did too... (aside from the loads of screaming children at a b'day party.. eep!)  

So, if you're stuck for ideas of things to do.. why not look up if there is somewhere to go and paint ceramics?? It's a fun way to spend a few hours and you get something to show (off) at the end! (Well, probably a week later when you have time to go pick up your projects after they've had a good bake in the kiln).  I'm rather proud of my efforts!! What do you think??

Living Room Fashion..

So those of you who know me, know that I'm not really the most stylish person...
Ask any of my friends what I wear normally and the reply will be - jeans and a t shirt... this has seriously been my uniform for the past... I don't know how many years...  jeans and t shirts have come and gone.. but they have always been replaced by a plethora of others.. I think at one stage I owned about 15 pairs of jeans... I've lost count of how many t shirts I own... my mother says I could open my own store... funny thing is.. I probably could, I have THAT many t shirts... Luckily having lived in many places over the last few years.. I have them all stored in separate places.. but if one day.. all my t shirts were to come together in one place...

Let's just say.. I LOVE t shirts...        Anyways... moving right along....
The point I'm making is, it is rare that I am not in jeans and a t shirt.. so when I bother wearing something different... I feel like I should mark the occasion... so here's my first attempt at an outfit post...

Coat - Uniqlo 2007 (can't remember cost); 

Dress - American Apparel £25 ( I paid £12.50, 50% off w/coupon);

Belt - thrifted at car boot sale 20p (might have been 10p, I forget);

Tartan tights - souvenir shop £7.50;

Boots - M&S outlet £12 (originally £80, as they are real leather) SCORE!

I kept meaning to get the mister to take photos of me while we were out.. but it was cold out and we were running from store to store and I totally forgot till we came home... so s'cuse the laundry in the background!! At least it's only towels!! :)

Who says you can't wear green and purple!?!?! 

How did I do?? Yes?? No?? Would you be seen in public with me?? :D

Oh, and remember I said I made a t shirt necklace??

T-Shirt Necklace

So a while ago, I read a tutorial on how to make a t-shirt necklace, I took note (somewhere), I'm convinced I bookmarked it.. but I then proceeded to forget all about it... until reading this and seeing T shirt necklace on one of Anna's lists...

I then quickly ran through my Google Reader, checked the ones I'd tagged for crafting... nope.. checked the ones I'd starred.. nope... (I think I read the tutorial before I discovered my true love of G.R and all the many things it can do! - Many which I've yet to discover!)

But luckily a quick few clicks on Google, bought me all of these:

What better than a bit of DIY when it's wet and horrible out??!!

Oh! And my SEWING MACHINE (which the mister SO generously bought for me!! *am so lucky!!*) has arrived in store and is ready to be picked up!!!  Though we probably won't get him tonight.. hoozah!! I'm starting with a draft excluder which I plan to make from an old pair of the mister's cargos/chinos.. I figure it'll be fairly easy and require minimal skill and will be good for me to practice them skills I learnt in Home Ec class all those many many moons ago!!

Next time I'm out thrifting.. I'ma buy me a little coin purse and an old tape.... 

(I love that it's an old Barbie tape!)... 

I figure all I'll need is some superglue/hot glue gun and I'm in business...

It's not hard to pry open a tape.. (I've done it by "accident" in the past)..

Then I figure you just glue it on over an old coin purse and BAM!
